Nobody loves comfort food more than me! Sunday sauce was a must in my house growing up. But instead of doing away with this meal because of its typical high calorie and high carb content. I just decided to modify it.
For the sauce I’m sure you have specific instructions from your mom or grandma and Most sauce recipes are not where your taking the hit.
It’s the pasta and bread that gets you in trouble.
What I did over the weekend is substituted pasta for spaghetti squash it saved me a lot of calories and carbs. You can also try zucchini noodles as well.
If you just can’t live without the pasta and sauce combination try doing a mixture of spaghetti and spaghetti squash. As time goes on start giving yourself less pasta and more squash.
Replace the side or bread for a side of salad.
You can also substitute the sausage and meatballs for chicken and make a chicken parm dish with out the parm 😉
It’s all about the small changes that can quickly lead to a lifetime of better decisions.
